Wes, I think your trumpet is broken; there must be something wrong with the stops.

How can I tell? You only seem to be hitting one note.

Although I do agree. Gaming with assholes (generally willingly associating with assholes in any capacity) is a bad idea and does not lead to happiness or personal fulfillment.

As regards rules for sex in RPGs, I think they definitely have their time and place, so long as everyone at the table is comfortable with them. I've noted that healthy, well-adjusted human beings are generally far more willing to engage in sex than violence. Yet nearly every entertainment medium one comes across has a much easier time dealing with outrageous and mind numbing violence.

An overwhelming portion of the D&D PH is dedicated to rules for taking three feet of sharpened steel and driving it through the intestines of another sentient being. Yet the moment a book is published that deals with what happens when RPG characters get naked together, people start talking about poor taste and the wish fulfillment of losers who can't get laid.

If I have a choice between associating with someone who fantasizes all day about getting blow jobs from elven maidens and someone who spends the same day fantasizing about cleaving the skulls of his enemies with an axe, I'm going to have to take up with the guy who just wants to get some lovin'.

Anyway, I'm done now. I just occaisionally get a bit weirded out by the fact that our culture seems to view sex as a greater taboo than massacre and war. The psych students among us might conclude that our society has some serious self-loathing issues to see pain, fear, hatred, and death as more desirable than a bit of consensual pleasure.

Oh, and as long as we're talking about sex, violence, and RPGs. The makers of FATAL should be shot.

Thank you.
