Your review made me smile. I love Midian, hell I write supplements for it. Your little story reminded me of when I first started about a year and a half ago. It can be a murky system at times, but overall it is straight-forward and easy to learn. I hope you are all still playing and if you are I have some secret GM goodies to let you in on. As for the game world, we consider it a living game world. All actions have some toll on Midian as a whole in anyone's campaign. So with that said, yes Kinslayer is writing more about the continents.
