By the way what is basic and expert D&D? I think you mean D&D 2nd edition. It consisted of a number of books. What you call Basic stretched from level 1-3 and came with the keep on the borderlands, Expert spanned 4 to about 10 and came with the isle of dread. There were at least 5 books in all that spanned 1st-36th level. There was even a mass combat/kingdom domain book and a playing as an immortal above 36th level book in the series.
