I would suggest Tri-Stat makes the assumption those people are the exceptions, not the rule. Which in my experience is quite valid, or "realistic" as you put it.

I don't find this a fatal flaw at the foundation of the system. I believe it could be argued it is a fundamental strength at the foundation of the system.
