Just to put in my 2 cents on the percentile issue:
I like having attributes, skills and abilites with a lot of potential range. Even if they are based on bonuses which apply to discrete chunks of that range (eg. attributes of 70-75 giving the same bonus), I like the way that it makes each character seem a little bit different in a mechanical sense. I have played a fair bit of Shadowrun, and I enjoy it, but it has always irritated me to no end that normal humans have attributes that only range between 1 and 6. Just not enough variety there to make me happy.
As for adding up triple digits, it doesn't faze me in the slightest. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who can't quickly can probably use a calculator. But hey, it's been said before - different strokes for different folks. Just because I like it this way doesn't mean everyone should. It sure is nice having the choice, though.
