Good review, good reading, but you missed one little point:

I watched a lot of schlock in the 80's, as there was *a lot* of schlock produced then. And some of the funnier stuff I saw featured women in the army, women as assassins, alien warrior princesses on rollerblades (in a desert setting), etc. A lot of these "killer babes" were played by Playboy or Penthouse alumni, whose total lack of acting skills just made those movies even more hilarious.

I think the game, in part, was kind of a reaction to that.

Not that the game never appealed to the salivating gamer chauvinist pig in me...
