I'm a long-time fan of RM and must say... HARP is an exceptional piece of work. It really takes all the eloquence of the RM system and simplifies it to the point that it's an easy system to learn and to run.

All of ICE's games shine best when they are run by a good GM, and HARP is no different. However, HARP is such that I think a new RPer could get into the game and learn to GM without too many problems. RM is a bit overwhelming in that respect.

Something else I'd like to point out is the developer involvement in the community. Questions (rules clarifications, new uses, anything really) posted on the official website are usually answered in very short order by a member of ICE or, often even better, some of the loooooongtime RM pros that can offer wonderful ideas for rules implementation.

Give it a shot. Nice game.
