Actually, in a post I put on another thread here recently, I also thanked James for his review. The reason is twofold:
1) There's no such thing as bad publicity, and seeing a dissenting opinion can tell people more about a game that they may buy anyway than a good, gushing one might.
2) Criticism is good for artists, and RPGs are art. While I did not appreciate any character accusations that came up here or there, I am extremely grateful that James played my game and shared his thoughts on how that play went. I learned a lot that hadn't neccessarily been clear to me.
