Converted from Phorums BB System

"There is no such thing as a maximum attribute level in Tri-Stat, although attributes themselves often have only so many levels. Perhaps you are thinking of Mutants & Masterminds. "

> Table 2-1, page 9.

Are you referring to the SGE? I said Tri-Stat. Page 9 of SAS (Tri-Stat) says "The Silver Age." My table 2-1 says " Power Level," but lists only character point values, not maximum Attribute levels. There are no maximum Attribute Levels in Tri-Stat.

>Wings: Flight.

Gliding, and Natural Weapons (claws).

>Magnetic control: Telekinesis, 2 points/rank version.

Magneto can fly and throw magnetic force bolts.

>Mind-Reading: Telepathy.

Telepathy also grants the ability to project thoughts, so you'll need a Restriction. Also, do you read human minds, or machine minds, or all minds? Do you have an Area, or a Range, or both? Many mind-readers can't engage in telepathic combat, such as the Martian Manhunter. Some versions would be more like a Sixth Sense.

>Hmm, don't see many other ways to do it.

There are MANY ways to do it.

>obocop has the ability to mentally read the memories of computers in a 10,000' radius?"

No, he has level 1, and has a Restriction that he must physically interface the computer.

> The system doesn't use counting by fours; it uses division. So, if you had 7 actions and you rolled a 19 for initiative, you would go on 19, 16, 13, 10, 8, 5, and 2. If you rolled a 0 for initiative, you would have seven actions on initiative 0; if you rolled a negative initiative, your first actions happen after your last actions.

What it says is that they should be distributed evenly. There is no reason to suppose negative Initiative results in your actions going in reverse order. Personally, I just resolve all the attacks simultaneously, as they suggest.

> I happen to post there. No Empire City roleplaying going on there that I have seen.

The Empire City board was not a roleplaying board. It used to have some in-character news stories and such, but it was mostly character writeups and discussion about the setting.

> I never said all 'attributes' are powers (I'm assuming you're using GoO's distinction between 'powers' and 'characteristics' here).

And I never said you said that. I don't see a value in a special Powers section, when many characters' powers are Characteristic Attributes. And high Speed is attribute of a cheetah, but not a Power. Attribute is a good game term, because is it precise. Power Attributes and Characteristic Attributes are handy signifiers, but don't dictate the nature of the ability.
