Converted from Phorums BB System

In this particular situation, the rule is detrimental, but I would still blame the players before the game. In Age of Mythology, I really don't think you need to have played it before to get a sense of who's winning and who's not. Nothing is stopping you from counting their buildings or their combat units and subsequently thinking, "Gee, maybe I should do something about this."

>>What is the purpose of having this rule...what does it do...?

Nothing good, and potentially something detrimental. Ergo...poor rule.<<

You've spent a considerable amount of time and energy arguing that it's too easy for one player to get demolished by two aggressive players. Well, if this rule did not exist, then that same player could get demolished by THREE aggressive players in a four-player game, and then I would probably agree with you that having five resource cubes get swiped by every attacker would put the victim in a situation from which recovery was impossible. There have been times when this rule has been a source of annoyance for me, but I believe it is still necessary for this reason.
