With NPC stats you mean stats for the famous characters from the books? I don't miss them. If I game in a world based on books with famous characters, I tend to remove famous characters. In my game, its the players who are the center of focus and the heroes. So if Mongoose whould have had facts about famous characters, I could have taken them as biography without stats. But this is just my opinion.
