The problems raised with Mongoose's editing, proofreading and typo correction could be down to several issues: poor line management, a desire to turnaround product like @!#$ off a shiny shovel, a hideous workload for the editor, and a management editing target that is utterly unrealistic.

I do agree that, if you're spending $50 on a book, poor proofing and editing cannot be excused. For the money they charge for their books, you'd expect them to be able to implement a high QA standard.

Unless, of course, Mongooses's real aim is NOT to engage the customer, but to turn out as many books as possible, in as short a time as possible, and for the maximum profit.
