Dude, you think the Empire is an *easy* army to play??

Empire is just too fragile from a Leadership standpoint to play well for newbies. Add to that the fact that Empire force composition is wide open and often overwhelming for new players *and* the complexity of the detachment rules, and it just isn't a beginners army.

Stick with Orcs, Chaos, or Ogre Kingdoms for an "easy" to play army.

I also suggest you find a local group. Many of the WFB players I know, including myself, will often loan you an army so you can test it out and love to teach new players the game. Moving metal across a table is a unique joy I love to share.
