I generally agree with you. I found Mammoth Hunters interesting enough while I found San Marco dull.

One thing I'd mention is that people I've played with have complained about the length, which can push 1:45. The game can get a bit repetitive and feels like it really wants to be 1:15 or so. It's just this side of OK for me, but some people I've played it with found it goes on too long.
