Yes, I have to confess that I was a little disappointed too. You could have published an appendix to cover character generation, and used the saved space to pay more attention to the Mythos and Dark Ages society/campaigning.

I will use this book, but I'll be basing a campaign in Dark Ages Britain (ie, ad 460+) and loosely structured around/inspired by Bernard Cornwell's 'Warlord Chronicles'. Imagine it: King Arthur meets Cthulhu...
