Now, I'll admit that I haven't seen HeartQuest itself, only HeartQuest Diceless, which is a lot lighter (and, as far as I could tell, largely content-free). But what got me was:
It's a "romantic" game, right? It has "romantic role-playing in the world of shoujo manga" right on the front cover, right?
So why the heck are there no rules for romance!?
As always, there's a detailed combat system. Because - of course - Kareshi Kanojo no Jijyo, Azumanga Daioh, Someday's Dreamers, Hyper Panic, etc.. all had people beating each other up all the time. Heck, there's even a magical girl show with no combat (Magical Stage Fancy Lala) but I'd be rather disturbed by anyone who wanted to RP it..
