Converted from Phorums BB System

Maybe I'm missing something, why would the sex of the GM matter? The GM plays multiple races and characters after all. I remember maybe romance stuff being awkward when I was twelve, but we all mature at different times. If you are not mature enough to speak 'romantic-stuff' to another PC or GM, then I don't know why it would not be a big deal to have the same situation and roll it out. You are still presented with the same situation and have to think about what it entails, i.e. have your character be 'sweet' to the character of the person next to you.

Futhermore, I don't see that it is any more awkward when you are playing a game that say involves intimidating other people. It should involve more than just a die roll, right or some system, right? Or what if you're playing a game where you're trying to impress others, or make a friend, have a conversation, in most of my games, that's done by "speaking" not by "rolling."

Why even include romance in a game if you don't want to play it out? Maybe I just don't understand what sort of "system" is needed.

As for your other questions, I'd just recommend looking at Heartquest Revised, I don't have it in front of me right now. It is superior to any of the other HQ products out there that I've seen. But there are skills, if you want to just concentrate on them...once again, I don't know what more of a system is needed. I suppose someone could make up some complex 100 page table full of variables, different situations, etc etc.
