I own the original, and we played it like crazy back in the day. I don't have GBI, but from the description, it sounds like its a little bit more fomalized than the original, which was quite loose and wacky. Some of my best RPG memories are from Ghostbusters sessions. We never did it as a campaign, just a series of extended one shots.

Folks looking for games of this style might also want to check out Inspectres (at Inspectres.com, shockingly enough) which takes the original vibe and adds a dollop of startup.com wackiness, as well as an intriguing system.
