I think this all just boils down to personal preference. Drew Stevens says that "traditional assumptions" are incorrect, well no. I think Vampire would be better without the Humanity rating, my personal opinion is that such is a replacement for poor roleplaying, a crutch if you will. Sure, you need the basics--this guy is a smooth-talker, she's strong, but it's all about the play, not the system, forget the system, have fun. But that's not a fact, that's just me.

Personally, I loathe social systems. It's role-playing, leave it up to playing the role. If you aren't comfortable playing out the role, pick a different one.
I'm happy in my games when a die is never rolled and a book/chart is never glanced at, it means I'm doing something well and the other players like it. Once again...personal preference.

Obviously the reviewer likes systems, but that doesn't make systems necessarily right for this book or any other.
