What do you mean by pips? I'm not familiar with that term. (I also don't have the full version of Nova).

I just know the german Version of StarWarsD6 and thought "pips" were a term they couldn't translate(perhaps it's called diffrently in the englsih version).

Every "pip" was just an "+1" to an Attribute/skill.

For example: IIRC you could distribute twentyone D6 among your 8 attributes(However for this example I'll just huse 15 Dice and 3 attributes, OK?) In the End it most often looked something like "Strentgh 4d, Tech 5d, Jedi-juju 6d". You could however break down a die into three pips(+1), and distribute a third of a die (or two thirds of a die) to a single Attribute(if you'd give 3 pps to a single attribute they'd become a die again). Let's take a die from Jedi-Juju and distribute it among Strength and Tech, so we get:"Strength 4d+2, Tech 5d+1, Jedi-juju 5d"
----------------

Now you know that every die is effectively 3 pips and you can say: "Strength:4d+2" equals "Strength:14 pips". This is nearly to exactly the opposite of the Nova-System(Which works with: "Strength:14" equals "Strength:4d+2"). The whole diffrence is that StarWars used a divde/multiply by 3, while Nova Uses a divide/multiply by 4.
