When you pull that quote out I sound a bit patronizing. If it seemed that way I apologize, as I didn't mean to be. When you characterized the varying usefulness of the command cards and the tendency to build up less useful cards in a player's hand over the game as "problems" needing "mitigating", it seemed you didn't see them as intentional aspects of the game design and the Command & Colors system philosophy (which they are).
I certainly agree that there will be gamers who will want more control over their tactical options than the game currently allows. And they can use a few simple house rules (like allowing a turn for discarding an entire hand or ingoring the section restrictions on certain cards) to accomplish this.
