RE: Battle Cry v. Memoir '44

Converted from Phorums BB System

Ah. That would be my job.

Memoir 44 is obviously based on the same system as Battle Cry, but has tiny little changes all through the system, terrain, scenarios, and everything.

The two biggest changes IMHO are that everything is less deadly, with firing range being shorter. The other big changes is that the scenarios are far more objective based.

The end result is that movement is far more important, and holding and gaining ground is an important aspect of the game. And so the game feels much more like a traditional wargame. Movement is a lot more important, and units that move in can hang around a few turns to actually do something.

But the other aspects also add to the game. Cards are more interesting, varied, and balanced. It is harder to get stuck with useless cards.

Personally, after having played Memoir 44, I'll probably never touch Battle Cry again.

But if you want more details, DoW posted the main game rules online.
