One problem I see with some of the posted comments here is that M'44 is NOT a realistic battle simulator. It's an enjoyable (EXTREMELY enjoyable) boardgame that masterfully manages to present historical military scenarios in a stripped-down format.
If the game inspires folks to investigate hard-core wargames, all the better, but what excites me is that children and non-gamers (and non-gaming significant others) are enjoying this "wargame"!
I loved Battle Cry and I'm loving Memoir '44 even more. The only reason I will ever play BC again is that there are still some scenarios in the book that I never had a chance to try, but I look forward to MANY games of Memoir '44 in the coming weeks, months and heck, YEARS!
