I agree about the possibilities of RP and how Universalis opens them up, too. I was thinking fairly recently, trying to come up with a game that might have been if role-playing had been invented by someone other than wargamers. At the time, I couldn't seriously think of a group other than wargamers who, realistically, would come up with a role-playing game . . . save improv theater people, and they'd create a game that looked a lot like live-action role-play. But other than that . . . well, later on, I thought that maybe writing clubs could invent a role-playing game and I think if they did it'd look a fair bit like Universalis: what an RPG would look like in a world where writers, not wargamers, invented RPGs.

A great game, tho'. Thanks for writing it.
