Yeah, as the game's author said, you can play it solo (love that pun by the way As he also said, they have some rules suggestions for playing SOTG by yourself.

Since I have gotten my one obligatory game out of my youngest daughter---the playest--, I'll likely have the joy of playing this game solo

My family won't play anything that doesn't have Monopoly, Parker Brothers or Milton Bradley printed on the box apparently.
