Converted from Phorums BB System
I'm sure you did your best Shannon, and that's appreciated. I'm not sure what constitutes "overly defensive" or differentiates it from simply being thorough, but we believe that an open exchange of ideas and viewpoints on the concepts and statements about something can only help people weigh up what they'd likely think about a game. If they want to think, "oh that reviewer just doesn't like that game" or "that designer is biased" that's fine, but there can't be any harm in providing the reader with points and counterpoints on its different aspects.
I should also say that it's really hard to tell what tone someone is speaking with over the internet (and this courier font makes it look like I'm speaking like Dick Cheney). I guess that's why they made smiley faces, but now we tend to gloss over them like the "have a nice day" comments we get from grocery store clerks - but I promise all my smiley faces are genuine!
