Well, TECHNICALLY, there IS something in the books that contradicts it - SOMEONE (~omitting who in case someone hasn't read yet~ ~grin~) more or less admits to having killed the servants in Courts of Chaos. So, that confession more or less voids any chance that Benedict did it himself.

Unless, of course, the person who confessed was ALSO lying - not entirely an impossibility in Amber. ~winks~
