OK.. Now I really don't know why does everybody is trying to attack Eberron here. I really can't understand why this hate..
And beleave, there´s only hate itself.
Eberron is a Good setting and much more "real" thatn you have to expect. Is so much more logic that Magic, beeing powerfull as it is would be used much more "commercially" that in other setting. This is no reason to hate Eberron without any REAL reason.
Just an example: I saw in the review the author said that he couldn't accept Eberron because one player said: “Okay I have an Adamantine body – how much gold if I sell off a few arm plates?”
Please, don't blame on the setting for bad player or been bad GM. Why? Ok, than, what did your players do the last time they found a scroll with raise dead or ressurection? Oh.. they gave it to the cleric to Keep it?
WHAT? So it´s not a problem to keep a scroll that is priceless for someone rich that wants to bring back his son or his daughter but the setting is terrible because someone wants to sell parts of his body? OK.. Could you please tell me why?
If this players ask you again about that ask him why haven't sold his sword while playing Dragonlance, or why haven't him sold any raise dead or wish Wand/scrolls? If we're thinking that way, why did Undermountain existed? I means, I would hire 1.000 soldiers and would kill everything inside. Just one or two scroll with "wish" would be enought to pay hunded thousant gold pieces for each soldier, so don´t give me this "Eberron doesn´t work" without reason. Next time tell this player, OOC, it that's ok with him, why don't he goes sell his kidney or his liver?
Like I said, is most normal to think that magic would bring a new economical and social structure. This is much more logical than any other settings ideas, and this won't make Eberron "bad".
Eberron is a good setting that have very new goods and logical ideas. I'ts better structured that much more setting and yes, it doesn't have a place for many players, just like Forgotten or Dark Sun when they were launched.
