I liked MoA a lot, but it's been years and years since I read it.
The mini-series might be a better bet. The knights at least look pretty historically accurate in it (even down to the more or less Late Roman helmets).
And, yes, some of what I liked about MoA is that the author sometimes gives a respectful nod to the various 19th/early 20th English "Myths" about Arthur, the various "old peoples" of Britain etc. Not excessively, mind, but still...
