Babylon 5 d20 radically reduces hit point inflation.

Traveler t20 (which is an OGL game, I believe) adds a couple more ability scores.

Mutants & Masterminds does away with hit points entirely in favor of saving throws vs. damage.

And then there are the really quirky games like Grimm...
