Converted from Phorums BB System
I've played the two person game four times now, and I doubt that i will play it as it really does seem that you can look at your first few hands, diceide on a startegy and then everything else just plays itself.
The last game I had a quarry and a carpenter. When I drew a library in turn 3 or 4, the game was over. Even without it, I was getting violet buildings for 2 off *without* the builder, and so just had to look out for high pointers. With the libray, I had a four discount on building. Game *way* over.
In pervious games I've stated with a strong production leaning and won with that strategy. it seems very hard to win without going for a build OR produce strategy. Anything mixed doesn't seem to cut it. Even in a 3-4 person game, it seems that you don't have much in the way of decisions. You can't afford to wait 3 turns to decide how to play, so your play is determined by your first two turns, so at least half decided by the initial deal.
