The term is neither stupid nor unproductive, it means exactly what it says it means: a fantasy that while loved will not achieve its imagined goals.

Certainly, I think Darren is misusing it here: it does not apply to just any fantasy game system -- only specifically to those which are obviously D&D-dervived and do little more than change a few rules to "improve" the system in one direction or another, but do little more to move away from being exactly what they are: D&D clones, D&D with the serial numbers filed off, etc.

BTW, have you read the articles?
