Converted from Phorums BB System

On the contrary, the trad goth is alive and well in the goatswood (Severn Valley) region, where as it happens I reside. Here also resideth a number of early goths, and trad goth is probably stronger here than anywhere outside of Manchester and Slimelight, where it is fading. Nights of BAuhaus/Nephilim/Sisters still get played, and local band Inkubbus/Sukkubus are as trad goth as they come, as ar The Screaming Dead. At the time Goatswood came out Candice and I were still dj'ing Sanctuary pulling 100-200 goths monthly, Gloucester had a trad goth night, and Phantasmagoria was still weekly, dj'd by, well me actually.

OK, the scene has now been infecetd by the laothsonme spookykids - but there are still 5 seperate weekly goth/industrial/rock nights in Cheltenham with late licences that I know of.

The real tragedy was that I was working on The PH for Chaosium at the time, am fairly well known in the goth scene (see above), and am also an 'expert' on the folklore and ghostlore and real history of the region. I offered several times to assist, but Chaosium or the authors must have declined my help, for they never replied to the offer, except once when they said the author had it very much in hand. I felt rather slighted actually.

Now someone go review my monograph! (the eternal plea)
