Some valid points, but your main arguments don't stand up to logic.
The game obviously works for someone, since so many people play it. I get back to my original point, in that this game does not work for you personally. This is a taste issue, not a mechanics issue.
Your evidence of the "fixes" to back up your point don't wash, either. Every game has house rules. You can just as easily argue the opposite point and say the system is very solid and robust since it can be so easily modified. That was one of the great things about D&D in all its incarnations ... the game worked fine on its own, but making house rules was a snap and nearly everyone did it.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to beat you up or anything. I'm not a TROS fan since I don't own the game and have never played. I just felt I had to respond to what seemed like an unfair review of a game that obviously, judging from fan reaction, has more going for it than you state.
