When reviewing a product I take the approach of looking at the material like Joe Average Gamer. That means I note first impressions, taken at a glance, then sit down to find what every average gamer does. Namely how to create a character so I can just jump into playing a game.

You're saying that when you do a review you just skim the book without actually reading it thoroughly and then assume on the basis of your skim and your pre existing experience as a gamer that you're now ready to play the game?

And then you do a review based on this incomplete impression?

And that's a good thing?


Please tell me I've got it wrong.

I mean I know there are those who claim you can do a quality review without actually playing the game...but to not actually read it either...that's a new one on me...
