Also I read about having the matrix thread in the forum and honestly it was pretty stupid. Some one said that since the matrix was not at all "feasible" it shouldn't be in the book. Thats ridiculous, you could argue any of the aspects of d20 future are not feasible, whats more, what was feasible one day turned out to be an invention the next. I doubt most technology today was at all "feasible" a hundred years ago.
Did you fixate on that one statement and ignore the rest of the thread? Okay, granted, feasibility isn't the most important consideration when deciding what technology to include in a sci-fi RPG. But the more relevant point, IMO -- you know, the one that I actually quoted, the one that's expanded on in the other article I linked to (did you bother to read that one?) -- is that adventures in cyberspace don't work well in RPGs because one player has all the fun while the others just sit around.
And frankly, I don't care what "famous cyberpunk authors" think. As someone else pointed out in that thread, William Gibson was basically computer-illiterate at the time he wrote Neuromancer, so why would I want him to dictate how computer hacking should be handled in d20 Modern/Future?
