RE: Asking more simply

Converted from Phorums BB System

"When you look at the overall dark and horrific theme set by the books, it makes sense that a big nasty flesh-rending weapon will be more effective overall at killing someone than a smaller weapon with more finesse. Even if, in real life, the smaller weapon would be more likely to actually take someone out."

More often in Victim Horror, which is what WoD seems to be aiming for, the matter of skill is what decides the issue. Most Victims don't have a lot of skill at flattening bad guys, not even the cops or the Armed Forces (and the low-competency character creation rules back this up handily)! Whereas the Dangerous Thing is very, very good, and usually hindered only by its own arrogance. Larger weapons just look more menacing on-screen. They won't decide the contest themselves, despite the way the WoD combat mechanics work out in practice.

"Personally, I would like it if accuracy were better represented in the weapons' damage ratings, and if it were called something other than "damage"."

Representing accuracy and ease of use AT ALL would be an improvement. As the numbers stand now, weapons statistics do neither.
