Value of "personal" reviews

Converted from Phorums BB System

This review is one of those "I'm going to tell you everything I personally hate about this system" type of review, as opposed to a straight-up objective analysis. These kind of reviews tend to be crap, but they can also be useful.

It's pretty obvious when a criticism is motivated by personal distaste, such as this reviewers thoughts on the morality system. As a reader, I can still get a view of the system described without the "criticism" coloring it. Sometimes, you get a better view of a system since when people hate something, they tend to go into detail on why they hate it, giving you more information to make your own judgement.

This review has helped convince me to buy this game since a lot of the stuff he didn't like sounds good to me.
