I agree that a review is of little benefit from someone who is set against a type of product....

But I dont believe this reviewer was. While acknowledging that the book is rather light on setting, most of his criticisms are aimed at flaws in the game mechanics...which are supported by examples and referrences to other storyteller products which are of better quality (and which he apparently likes...and is not set against..even though he may no longer play them).

It strikes me that the somewhat vitriolic attitude is due to dissapointment at the quality of the product not meeting expectations, rather than a pre-existing negative prejudice.

.......better that reviewers get dissapointed by the dross that crosses their desk, and express it, than have consumers dissapointed AND out of pocket (esp if they have gone to the bother of lookng up reviews before hand)
