Although i haven't actually *played* Vampire: the Masquerade since before 3rd edition, or revised, or whatever it's called came out, it still interests me and so I picked up the latest incarantion.

I am certainly pleasantly suprised by it. The new WoD system seems more streamlined and more consistent overall, and generally "lower powered". Even when adding the vampire template, you don't suddenly become a god. I initially disliked the lack of "freebie points" for customization, but in retrospect they always seemed to be used to buy disciplines and generation.

As for if I'll play/run it... that remains to be seen. If I do, I would be most inclined to start all the characters out as mortals and slowly introduce them to the world and eventually have them embraced... Basically I'd want to run a very drawn out prelude.
