Then if I understand you correctly, your position is that you *should* have to pay points for positive character traits, where "positive" is defined as "something that makes your life easier". Fair enough. But then the question becomes, how far do you take that, and how do you enforce it when it comes to traits that can't be modeled using game mechanics? Maybe you can reflect Brave by a bonus to Fright Checks, and Sociable by a bonus to social skill checks, but what about Resourceful? If the player comes up with a clever solution to an in-game problem, is the GM supposed to say "Sorry, you can't do that because your PC isn't Resourceful enough to have thought of it?"
