You CAN but there's a lot of stuff missing in the Quickstart. Many of the "extras" in the rulebook really add a lot of the good stuff in Savage Worlds. For instance, most of the neato tactical options that make combat not just a war of attrition of "you swing, I swing, ..." are in the main rulebook.
