I kind of agree. I'm currently in a high level Champions game, and doing just fine.

I've never actually played the old DC game, but all the licensed RPGs I've seen tend to be very quirky. WEG DC, for instance, is overly penalizing of characters who purchase many simple powers rather than one big omnipower, and its speedster rules are just absurd.

Granted, Hero has its own quirks, but aside from a general tendency towards lower level superheroics, I don't think they are very obtrusive.
