I ran V:TM when it first came out (the 1st edition soft cover), but modified my game heavily to remove the Punk trappings. To me the whole thing about Vampires is longevity, yet this game was about newly Embraced pups fighting the Elder-run-system. The new Blood Potency system is great for people like me, because I can have player characters who are centuries old if I want, focusing more on themes of isolation and coping with change. Couldn't do that before. And the old generation system made the Kindred something akin to a mega-corp in a Cyberpunk game...you had to kill the guy above you to advance. Now age alone can do it.
