Yes; there you may well have a point. However on the issue of aesthetics Steve we arelikely to continue to disagree; simply art is not important to some folks, who like me have poor visual recall and no interest in visual media (I dream in text as far as I can tell) - but VERY important to others. We will have to simply disagree on this - I suspect you are in the majority, though there is something about rpgs - part literary, part storytelling, which makes them appeal to non-visual folks.
I think that was part of the problem with Toon for my players - until they made little plasticene models of their characters, to squish, mutilate etc, the game never really worked for us. Cartoons are a highly visual medium.
