Perhaps you are a discriminating reader of reviews then Andrew. Or perhaps quite simply you take those elements of a game which do no suck, and had fun with them. I can't think of any game I have bought which sucked - many weren't what I expected or wanted, but by varying my player group and my style I had great fun with them.

For instance - I loathe violence, and dislike cinematic violence - yet Feng Shui takes such a concept to it's logical end, and makes it so fantastic, so absurd, it really does work for me - totally divorced from the blood and tears of real world combat. Orpheus is a game which based on my personal preferences in many ways I should loathe - yet I am 14 weeks in to a very fun campaign. I spent £50 on Seventh Sea, yet have never actually managed to run a session - yet I can see it is a actually a great game, and it's time will come. Kult made me feel queasy, and I gave away my books - yet I ran one of the finest sessions in my rpg experience with it.

Does any rpg truly suck? Well, admittedly, I have not used Nobilis yet... I'll let you know!
