I should have put a smiley... By no means I was trying to disqualify your comments.
I was not using "dummy" in a pejorative way.
I was rather trying to give a brief capsule description of Matt Howarth, a sort of "Matt Howarth 101", if you will (and from a passionate POV, as I like the Post Bros comics a lot).
FWIW, as a lover of European BDs, in particular French ones, I found that Howarth's style reminds me of early Moebius - in particular Moebius' signature style that I call "cross-hatching" (lignes, traits et points). As you mention, Howarth goes for the caricature look, while Moebius' range is wider (from Blueberry to Arzach).
If you ever see a Post Bros. comics, take a look.
