If you're looking for alternative systems bear in mind the upcoming Starship Troopers battle game, designed by ex-GW Andy Chambers and published by Mongoose Publishing (http://www.mongoosepublishing.com). It's due out early 2005 and has miniatures designed by Bob Naismith, so you know it'll look good.

In terms of support, Mongoose seems to have the financial muscle and ambition to put out plenty of material. They have the whole background of the book, film(s) and especially the CG series to draw from.
