Buy the "Battle of Macragge" Starter Box instead.

For the same price as the hardcover rulebook you get lots and lots of plastic figures (I sold the Tyranids, kept the Marines), some very cool plastic terrain (that destroyed gunship looks awesome) and, and this is the kicker, a small softcover booklet that is actually the WHOLE rulebook (albeit in a smaller font type) minus lots of the art, the fluff, etc.

That box is (for GW at least) very good value for the money.
