It would have been nice to go over the rules. I never much liked 40K for three big dynamics:

TURN SEQUENCE Your army all went, then my army all went. I prefer the alternate unit activation games.

PROBABILITY 40k used a single six-sided die and the granularity was very high. (+1 = 16%). I never liked the roll to hit, roll to wound, roll to save, roll for bonus stuff, repetative rolling to accomplish nothing

STYLE 40K was centered on having puny units and mondo heroes. I preferred having more balanced heroes.

A discussion of any of those points would have been good for me.

Oh, and Bill, bite me! The guy obviously knows the game, he's just not very communicative.
